Santander Corporate and Commercial Banking has teamed up with Dentsu, a Tokyo-based business transformation firm, to create an innovative international trade platform tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The platform, scheduled for release in Q2 2025, aims to “simplify international trade for the world’s SME community,” according to Dentsu.
Dentsu’s comprehensive role includes overseeing the platform’s “design, build, operations, and marketing,” with support from technology giants Adobe, Amazon, and Salesforce. The platform will provide SMEs with essential market knowledge, exclusive discounts, and bespoke services, aiming to “break down trade barriers” and empower businesses to enter new markets with confidence.
Santander plans to roll out the platform in 45 markets globally over the next five years, including 10 of the bank’s core markets. This initiative builds on Santander’s recent digital expansion, including the launch of its subsidiary Openbankin the US and Mexico.
This collaboration underscores Santander’s commitment to supporting SMEs in their international growth journeys and leveraging technology to create seamless trade opportunities.
